Andrew says he stayed with Epstein as it was ‘convenient’

"I have no recollection of ever meeting this lady, none whatsoever", said Prince Andrew, 59, according to quotes from the interview.

Andrew, who has faced harsh criticism for his friendship with the American financier and convicted sex offender, answered questions about his involvement with Epstein in a BBC interview set to air on Saturday night.

One of his alleged sex slaves, Virginia Giuffre, said she was forced to have sex with the duke three times when she was a teenager between 1999 and 2002.

The Prince has been embarrassed by a widely reproduced photograph of him with his arm wrapped around the waist of Ms Giuffre.

Andrew, the second son of Queen Elizabeth II and eighth in line to the throne, has been criticised over his hyperlinks to multimillionaire Epstein, who died within the USA in custody.

Prince Andrew stayed friends with convicted billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein because he was "too honorable" to end the relationship, The Duke of York told the BBC.

On his decision to stay with Epstein even after his sex trafficking conviction in 2008, Andrew says he now sees it was a poor choice, not befitting of royalty.

Photographs and footage show Andrew in the doorway of Epstein's NY home in 2010, two years after the financier's first conviction for sexual offences.

Any accuser who accepts a confidential payment - determined by the fund's administrator with no say from the estate - would have to give up "her right to litigate any claims she may have against any person or entity arising from or related to Mr. Epstein's conduct", the papers said.

"For so many years he has gone about his duties for Great Britain and The Monarch".

Epstein, 66, died by hanging himself in his Manhattan jail cell on August 10, two days after signing a will and putting his estimated US$577-million estate into a trust.

The duchess, who has remained discontinuance to Andrew since their split in 1996 and is the mom of his two daughters, talked up the importance of "familyhood" when asked if she used to be standing by the prince.

Ferguson sent him a message of support shortly before the interview excerpts were broadcast on Friday.

I stayed with him. and that's the bit that.

"Any suggestion of impropriety with underage minors is categorically untrue", a statement from Buckingham Palace said earlier this year. He saw Epstein, a sex offender, following his release from custody in Florida.

In August, Buckingham Palace said in a statement that Andrew was "appalled by the recent reports of Jeffrey Epstein's alleged crimes", which include the sex trafficking of girls as young as 14 years old.
