Garrett ripped Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph's helmet off and clubbed him in the head with it in the final seconds of Cleveland's victory Thursday night.
The NFL is expected to rule on the suspension appeals stemming from Thursday night's brawl between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns no later than Wednesday, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The Browns and Steelers organizations also were fined $250,000 USA each.
The NFL labeled Garrett's discipline an indefinite suspension, saying he'll need to meet with the league "prior to a decision on his reinstatement".
The NFL's Derrick Brooks and James Thrash will hear the cases early this week and reportedly intend to make their rulings before the teams' respective Week 12 games.
Several players appeared to leave the bench areas during the melee.
According to Schefter, about 10 players will be fined for leaving the sideline to join the skirmish. The league is still reviewing video of the incident before formally issuing the penalties.
The fine schedule also calls for players who unnecessarily enter the fight area with an active involvement to be fined $7,017 for a first offense and $14,037 for a second offense. Pouncey, who jumped into Garrett, kicking and punching him after Rudolph had been struck, was suspended for three games. It's not surprising that the league would want to be thorough with its punishments.
