Hazard says Ballon D'Or should be awarded to Liverpool player

Eden Hazard has backed one of Liverpool trio Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah or Virgil van Dijk to win this year's Ballon d'Or.

Messi, 32, has enjoyed another tremendous year for the Catalan club as he won his 10th La Liga title with Barcelona last season and was once again a central cog in his side's success, scoring 36 goals and adding a further 13 assists on 36 appearances.

2019 Ballon d'Or trophy ceremony will be held on 2 December 2019. We disappointed in the Champions League.

The young French star watched on at The Best FIFA Awards earlier this year as his Argentinian idol clinched first place, with Mbappe coming sixth.

A flurry of fans have taken to Twitter to express their opinion on the matter, and they feel the former Southampton star should win the award.

He told a press conference on Tuesday, "I have said many times that Messi is the best player in the world and should win it". It would be attractive if he won it. It'd be a correct factor for every African and English soccer'.

But Real Madrid attacker Hazard believes the award should be given to one of Jurgen Klopp's charges, highlighting Mane for his displays for Africa Cup of Nations finalists Senegal.

Liverpool's coach Jurgen Klopp said: "If you give the Ballon d'Or to the best player of this generation, then you can give it always to Lionel Messi, that's how it is".

"We can play better, I think we have an fantastic team, most of the best players in the world, so we know we can perform better but we're winning, first in the most hard group in the tournament".

According to Francesc Aguilar of Mundo Deportivo, the victor of the 2019 Ballon d'Or was been told of his success, one week before the official ceremony in Paris.
