National Basketball Association players tweet prayers for Kemba Walker after scary injury

Celtics guard Marcus Smart is no stranger to confrontation and trash talk.

Even if it's for a couple of games, this is not what Celtics fans wanted to hear.

In a tweet, the Celtics said Walker has been diagnosed with concussion-like symptoms and was transported to a hospital for further evaluation.

In 14 games this season, Walker is averaging 22.6 points and 4.8 assists per game.

Walker was treated for more than eight minutes on the court after first reaching Ojeleye's head. As Walker tried to stay with the player he was guarding, he ran with his head down and collided with teammate Semi Ojeleye.

His teammates gathered near him as did the Nuggets players, clearly concerned about his health.

The 29-year-old remained on the ground and left the court after he was placed on the stretcher with a neck brace on him. He also pulled down three rebounds in the fourth period to bring his total to 10 for the game, giving him his second double-double of the season.

"He's a leader", Jaylen Brown said of Walker.

They're 11-4 and third in the East and doing it without forward Gordon Hayward, who is now sidelined for at least another month with a broken left hand. There are no reports on how much time Walker will miss, if any.

The Celtics were in the process of scoring 11 straight points in the second quarter to get within 36-30 of the Nuggets.

Celtics: Hayward is making progress in his recovery from the broken left hand he suffered during a November 9 game against San Antonio. However, Brad Stevens provided a positive update on Hayward recently.

"This was an ugly win", Nuggets coach Michael Malone said. Aptly nicknamed Team Shamrock, the four were able to bond and learn about each other's games while under the tutelage of Gregg Popovich and Steve Kerr - two of the most prominent National Basketball Association head coaches today.
