National Football League picks: Predictions for Chicago Bears at Los Angeles Rams

The Rams' injury-depleted offensive line and the Bears' unproductive offense could make the matchup between the 5-4 Rams and the 4-5 Bears a defensive struggle.

A season after appearing in Super Bowl LIII, the Rams are 5-4 and clinging to a 17% playoff berth chance, according to ESPN's Football Power Index. "If you don't got a game plan for him, he can take over a game".

The Bears are led by head coach Matt Nagy, quarterback Mitch Trubisky and pass rusher Khalil Mack.

Since Chicago has been dealing with some struggles of their own, this would seem like the flawless opportunity for Los Angeles to bounce back, but of course this is always easier said than done since the Rams are dealing with few areas of weakness as well.

The fourth-year quarterback, who signed a four-year extension with $110 million in guarantees before the season, understands there are plenty of areas where he must improve. But the Bears' defense packs a similar punch to last season, when it shut down the 11-1 Rams in a 15-6 victory during Week 14.

Goff has fumbled nine times, losing five. Donald made two tackles. Both totals are expected to grow Sunday.

Getting the running game going in this one would certainly help Los Angeles move the ball offensively, and McVay knows sometimes you have to continually run it even if it struggles initially. "They just both got the little stomach bug - it is contagious - so kept those guys at home", McVay said. Game script may have played a role in Gurley's scarce usage as the Rams were playing from behind at Pittsburgh, though it's still surprising Los Angeles would go away from its star running back at such a pivotal juncture. He surprisingly popped up in the injury report. The former second overall pick engineered a touchdown drive late in the first half, capping the Bears' 10-play, 80-yard march with an 18-yard dart to backup tight end Ben Braunecker with 25 seconds to go in the second quarter.
