He said he has no plans to establish a formal coalition with any other parties, but that he heard loud and clear the message Canadians sent him.
"Justin Trudeau is projected to WIN a second term as Canada's Prime Minister despite blackface controversy after Liberals take an early lead", reads the headline. "We will be continuing with the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion", CBC News quoted the 47-year-old premier as saying.
"The separatist Bloc Quebecois is back on the rise - and Alberta and Saskatchewan have completely rejected Trudeau's policies", said Scheer.
Yves-Francois Blanchet, head of the Bloc Quebecois, a down-and-out party that scored a big comeback on Monday, said he could work with the new government if the interests of French-speaking Quebec are preserved.
In recent days, both Kenney and Moe have spoken about the frustration and alienation being felt in the West.
"When your government falls, Conservatives will be ready and we will win", Scheer said.
Only a few hours after he left the stage at Liberal party election headquarters in Montreal, Trudeau stood at the top of the station's escalators to shake hands with commuters, thanking them as they congratulated him on his electoral success and posing for photos when asked.
Trudeau would require at least 13 legislators from his left-leaning rival parties to achieve the'magic number' of 170 to make a fledgling Party-led minority government in the 338-seat House of Commons. It won 32 seats, more than triple its total in the 2015 election.
Trudeau has won that support, though his minority government means that he will be forced to work closely with other parties to govern. The Green Party won three seats and former Liberal cabinet minister Jody Wilson-Raybould was re-elected in her Vancouver Granville riding as an Independent. Andrew Scheer and his Conservative party picked up seats.
Canada's election results are in and Justin Trudeau has prevailed over the lingering controversy that plagued his campaign.
Ms. Gladu criticized Mr. Scheer's communications team and said his handling of questions on abortion, a target the Liberals exploited during the campaign, should have been dealt with earlier in the campaign.
"I also don't like our money being invested in oil because it's destroying the climate", he said, knocking Trudeau's nationalization of the Alberta-to-British Columbia Trans Mountain pipeline previous year in order to increase crude exports. "And we have come a long way, and I'm proud of that".
Going forward, Trudeau said it was important for lawmakers to 'work together, to listen to each other, to figure out the right path forward for every part of the country'. "And I recognize that much of this campaign tended to be around me, and I do hold a bit of responsibility for that".
There are still lots of votes to count so it is unclear how each party will ultimately fare. He said he's meeting with key campaign officials to do a "thorough review" of the party's election performance.
He also highlighted the need for action on "affordability", which would take form in a middle-class tax cut that he intends to propose before Parliament when it reconvenes.
"Tonight Conservatives have put Justin Trudeau on notice", Scheer said.
"While we didn't get the result we wanted, we still made excellent gains".
