Ansu Fati becomes youngest ever Champions League goal scorer

Inter have failed to get beyond the Champions League group stage for a second successive season after losing 2-1 at home to Barcelona, with Ansu Fati's late victor making him the youngest scorer in the competition's history.

Internazionale are looking to extend the player's current contract that expires in 2023, mainly to raise his buyout clause as many European giants find the current release clause [€111m] as a steal for the talented forward.

Barcelona sits pretty at the top of Group F, the same can't be said for their opponents, Inter.

After Tuesday's match at San Siro, Barca face Real Sociedad before taking on Real Madrid in the rearranged Clasico on December 18, with another league match against Deportivo Alaves capping off 2019 three days later.

Inter now occupy second place in Group F, ahead of Borussia Dortmund on goal difference, and know that anything other than a win could see the German side pip them to the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Gerard Pique and Sergi Roberto are also granted rests, while Nelson Semedo, Arthur, Ousmane Dembele and Jordi Alba remain sidelined through injury.

Inter Milan: Handanović, Biraghi, D'Ambrosio, Godín, Škriniar, de Vrij, Valero, Brozović, Vecino, Martínez, Lukaku.
