Bank robbery suspect throws money on the street, yells 'Merry Christmas!'

On Monday afternoon, a 65-year-old man, named David Wayne Oliver, held up a bank in Colorado Springs and then proceeded to spread some Christmas cheer.

We take you to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where the festive robbery took place. "It was nearly like he wanted it to happen", an eyewitness told 11 News.

Witnesses claim to have seen the man - thought to be a 65-year-old man called David Wayne Oliver - waiting to be arrested outside a Starbucks coffee shop after his weird crime.

Police have not confirmed what happened next, but according to Pascale said: "He started throwing money out of the bag and then said, 'Merry Christmas!'"

The Denver Post quoted police as saying "thousands of dollars" remained unaccounted for, adding there was no indication Oliver used a weapon in the heist.

But it was not Santa Claus.

United States police in Colorado Springs said the "older white male" robbed the Academy Bank.

Several passers-by in Colorado, USA, were left stunned by a robber's rare gesture after he threw unknown amount of cash money at them.

"The suspect was found sitting in front of a nearby coffee shop and was taken into custody without incident by responding patrol officers".
