Chiefs get gear after it's mistakenly sent to New Jersey

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been stymied by Patriots coach Bill Belichick more than anyone else in the league, with the first half of both contests against the Patriots leaning heavily in favor of New England. A large portion of the team's equipment was accidentally shipped to the wrong city.

ESPN reports a container carrying the equipment was never unloaded from the plane when it got to Boston, and instead went to Newark.

The container holding pads and helmets for about 35 players as well as footballs (each team supplies its own on offense) was somehow not unloaded Saturday - and it is the responsibility of the visiting team to do so.

The Chiefs' left-behind equipment is expected to arrive between 3 and 3:30 p.m. ET, in time for Sunday's kickoff.

Folk worked out for the Patriots on Friday and is now set to kick in Sunday's game against the Chiefs. If team can not get the equipment to the proper place before the game starts, they will be forced to forfeit.

We'll see if the missing gear affects the Chiefs' pregame warmups.

Forbath made a 23-yard field goal but also missed an extra point in a loss to the Texans.
