Freezing Rain, Snow Expected; Winter Weather Advisory Issued

Temperatures will dip to the low-30s in the evening. The majority of the snow is forecast to fall on Sunday.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for a section of western Montana, including the Missoula and Bitterroot valleys. "Snow totals from 3-6".

WHAT - Areas shaded in blue below will likely see snow and/or ice. Snow will be heavy at times, with a Winter Storm Warning in effect from 8 am Sunday to 5 am Monday. Sunday will be a cold, snowy and windy day across Fremont County.

Motorists should plan for a slippery Monday morning commute.

By Sunday night, this storm will move into the Tennessee and Ohio River Valleys, bringing another threat for wintry weather from Missouri to Virginia, with heavy rain impacting areas along the warm front. "Snow totals from 7-10". Wind: NW 5-10. Low: 18. Snow switching to sleet and freezing rain for most inland locations. Snow will increase throughout the morning hours, and will likely not taper off until Monday morning.

This winter storm could affect the commuting hours on Monday.

The second round will come in late Monday evening and overnight into Tuesday. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 9 am Monday.

Besides Tuesday, the next work week looks sun-filled and much cooler with highs into the 20s and lows into the teens Thursday and Friday. The first is happening today, with snow for most, and a wintry mix for south central and southeastern Kansas (mainly along and south of the HWY-400 and the Kansas Turnpike).

After getting a few inches of snow from the first round Sunday and Sunday night, St. Louis will have another few inches Monday into Monday night. Patchy light freezing drizzle is possible as the snow decreases this afternoon.

Hazardous travel can be expected across the region today through Monday. Single digit lows will be common Tuesday morning, with highs mostly below freezing Tuesday afternoon. Saturday's high temperature will be around 50 degrees.
