Mario Mandzukic joins Qatari club Al-Duhail

Mario Mandzukic has completed his move from Juventus to Qatari side Al-Duhail.

Mandzukic had been frozen out by new Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri this term, failing to make a single appearance for the Italian champions in 2019-20.

Al-Duhail are now top of the Qatari league and count Mandzukic's former Juve teammate Mehdi Benatia in their squad.

Mandzukic scored 44 goals in 162 games in all competitions for Juventus after joining them from Spain's Atletico Madrid in 2014, but has not featured in the current campaign under manager Maurizio Sarri.

Al-Duhail now lead the Qatar Stars League by four points after 11 matches.

The Crostian was linked with a winter move to Manchester United, but has opted to move to Asia.

Mandzukic was pivotal in Croatia's impressive run to the FIFA World Cup final previous year, scoring three times during the tournament in Russian Federation.

Mandzukic helped Croatia reach the final of the World Cup in Russian Federation a year ago and scored in their 4-2 defeat by France in the title clash.

He retired from global football after the World Cup in 2018 after scoring 33 goals for his national team.

Mandzukic's future with Juve was all but over when he was excluded from the club's Christmas celebrations earlier this month.

However, the Premier League club ended their pursuit of the Croatia worldwide on Deadline Day.
