Unai Emery sacked by Arsenal after poor start to season

Arsenal may have climbed off the Norwich City canvas in Freddie Ljungberg's first game in charge as interim manager, but it was another day of frustration for the men from north London.

Arsenal seemed to have wasted a chance to level when Aubameyang's penalty - awarded for handball by Norwich's Christoph Zimmermann - was saved by Tim Krul.

"You will find something in the rules about why it should be replayed because Max Aarons' foot was in the box, but Arsenal's players were quicker than ours".

The Canaries went into half-time ahead though as Todd Cantwell was allowed too much time and space to tuck home, but Aubameyang levelled on 57 minutes with a cool finish.

Having cancelled out Norwich's opener, Aubameyang was Arsenal's hero once again in the 57th minute.

This season, Arsenal lost only two of its first 17 games in all competitions but cracks began to show in the last two months, culminating in a terrible display in a 2-2 draw at home to Southampton last weekend - when an injury-time goal was needed to secure a scarcely deserved point - and then the defeat to Eintracht.

Arsenal's David Luiz (left) and Norwich City's Teemu Pukki battle for the ball during the Premier League match at Carrow Road, Norwich.

Following the dismissal of Unai Emery on Friday, interim manager Ljungberg had little time to rectify Arsenal's myriad of problems and saw them punished for familiar defensive failings, highlighting their vulnerability on the counter as "the problem I think everybody can see" but insisting it is "easy" for a coach to resolve. "Let's get to work!"

Therefore, with that in mind, I'm going to back Arsenal to score two or more goals and to take at least five corners - the visitors have taken five or more corners in seven of their last eight league outings, not to mention they have scored at least two goals against the other two sides who now make up the bottom-three. I'm like you, I read, I look, I hear things, and that's it'.

"For me, it is about the team and the club".

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, De Gea said: "The team is what it is, and results are what they have been recently". He also extended his goal return against newly promoted sides to 10 goals in 11 appearances, which is fantastic news for those who say his goals tend to come against "lesser opposition".

Manchester United is another big club struggling this season, and that continued in a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa.
