Annabella Sciorra Details Rape in Testimony Against Harvey Weinstein

Defence attorney Damon Cheronis accused Perez of contradicting the account she gave journalist Ronan Farrow in his New Yorker article when she said she learned of the attack well after it occurred. She cried on the stand as she told of how she was unable to tell her family what had happened.

The "Rape" happened after Weinstein had dropped her off at home following a business dinner at a restaurant.

Assistant District Attorney Meghan Hast told jurors on Wednesday that Weinstein raped Sciorra, best known for her role in HBO's "The Sopranos", on a winter night in 1993 or 1994. I was punching him. "It was threatening and I was afraid of him". "He came out of me and he ejaculated on top of me, on my nightgown".

Sciorra became the first accuser to take the stand in Weinstein's sexual assault trial. The Oscar-winning producer faces a potential life sentence if convicted of the top count in his trial for sexually abusing two NY women.

Haleyi, a former production assistant, has alleged that in 2006, Weinstein took her to his NY apartment and forced himself on her.

The 67-year-old producer of such Oscar-winning movies as "Chicago" and "The King's Speech" could get life in prison if convicted.

The defense team unveiled its theory of the case during opening arguments, expressing its belief that Weinstein's accusers largely pursued voluntary relationships with the producer, and objecting to the prosecution's depiction of Weinstein as some sort of monster.

Her allegations date back too long to be brought to trial.

Mr Anson, who now works for Guidepost Solutions but then ran his own firm, testified that he also had a telephone conversation with Mr Weinstein around the same time.

The jury of seven men and five women listened keenly and took notes on her testimony. "He started to unbutton his shirt, and then I realised that, in his head, he wanted to have sex and I didn't want to". His response was "menacing", she said. She says she backed off and pressed all the buttons for help, and people finally came.

He said now her story "mirrored" Sciorra's.

Sciorra continued: "It was just so disgusting that my body started to shake in a way that was very unusual. It was like a seizure or something". At the time, she said she did not want to act in the project but he insisted. Ms Perez said she had not.

"I didn't understand that was rape", Sciorra said about the encounter.

Sciorra told the jury that she spiraled into cutting herself and drinking heavily after the alleged rape.

But Sciorra did not, instead waiting more than a quarter-century before testifying Thursday against accused serial sexual predator Weinstein. She told him she had blacked out. She perceived the interaction as a threat to stay quiet.

Hast also told the court that Weinstein turned up at Sciorra's hotel room in Cannes in 1997 wearing just his underwear while carrying a bottle of baby oil in one hand and a video cassette in the other.

Sciorra played Gloria Trillo in the drama for three years between 2001 and 2004, picking up an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in the HBO series.

Recalling the subsequent phone call with Sciorra, Perez recalled on Friday she asked Sciorra if she knew who assaulted her, and encouraged her to call the police. Dist. Atty. Joan Illuzzi-Osborn. But she was called as a witness as prosecutors bid to show that the film mogul used his status to exploit women.

The former first lady was asked during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter if she regretted her "lengthy association with Harvey Weinstein". He has denied the allegations against him and previously plead not guilty to the NY charges.

As per an AFP report, Sciorra described Weinstein barging into her NY apartment and attacking her.
