Celebrity Trainer Jillian Michaels Body Shames Lizzo And It's Not OK

Michaels, widely known for her role on the weight-loss reality show "The Biggest Loser", made the comments during a January 8 appearance on the BuzzFeed News morning show "AM2DM".

"Why are we celebrating her body?" Why does it matter? She told us why she believes acting like Lizzo's size isn't opening her up to several serious health risks.is downright irresponsible. "'Cause it isn't gonna be awesome if she gets diabetes", she boldly said in a video from the interview.

She added, "I'm just being honest". But there's never a moment where I'm like, 'And I'm so glad that she's overweight.' Why do I even care? "Why is it my job to care about her weight?" - a mildly counterintuitive thing to ask, considering she evidently cares very much about Lizzo's weight. "They care about weight, not health".

This is... bad. We're just going to call it right now. "But don't tell me I need to celebrate bad decisions with you", former "Survivor" contestant Anna Khait wrote.

Unsurprisingly, the harsh remarks were immediately met with backlash!

Droves of Twitter users, including "Good Place" star Jameela Jamil, commented in defense of Lizzo.

Jillian Michaels is on a promo tour where she has stopped by multiple media outlets to talk about her new project.

"Jillian Michaels hates her own body and is anxious that if other people hate their bodies less, they'll stop buying the shit she peddles".

Watch.as a health and fitness expert, Jillian's definitely confident in what she's saying here - but will Lizzo fans feel good as hell about it?

The fitness personality later returned to the online platform to address the controversy.

"As I've stated repeatedly, we are all attractive, worthy and equally deserving", she shared in a statement on Twitter".

"I would never wish these for ANYONE and I would hope we prioritize our health because we LOVE ourselves and our bodies", she went on to say.

Uh, okay. So, not exactly an apology. The successful personal trainer shared her controversial opinion when she sat down for an interview with AM3DM by BuzzFeed News and explained that although she loves the talented artist's songs, she doesn't think we should care about her figure.

"I love that they're putting images out there that we normally don't get to see of bodies we don't get to see being celebrated", said the host, to which Michaels responded, "But why are we celebrating her body?"
