Chinese authorities open rapid response center in Wuhan to tackle new coronavirus

The World Health Organization has said an animal source seemed to be "the most likely primary source" with "some limited human-to-human transmission occurring between close contacts". A man in Washington state has been diagnosed with a novel infection racing through China, the first time someone in the United States has been confirmed to have the virus, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Tuesday.

People traveling from Wuhan will have their temperature checked and be asked about symptoms.

Tour agencies have been banned from being people out of Wuhan, according to CNN, and coronavirus screening areas in public spaces are expected to increase.

One report by the MRC Centre for Global Infectious Disease Analysis at Imperial College London suggested that there could be approximately 1,723 cases or more of the virus in Wuhan city alone.

However, the virus has now spread out to other Chinese cities, including the capital, Beijing, and Shanghai.

This new type of coronavirus, labeled 2019-nCoV, was the seventh of its kind known to human.

Late last week, USA health officials began screening passengers from Wuhan at three US airports - New York City's Kennedy airport and the Los Angeles and San Francisco airports.
