He nearly usurped Jennings' record for highest winnings in half the time Jennings spent winning his earnings. The risk taker from Las Vegas is also a professional gambler. He also holds 16 records on the program, and is the third all-time leading money victor.
Jeopardy's! earning record is still held by Brad Rutter, who won $4,788,436 over a five day winning streak in 2000, as well as two cars. Rutter, 41, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania worked at a records store before his "Jeopardy!" success.
