Mother arrested for murder of McGinley children in Dublin

A woman has appeared in court charged with the murder of three children, found dead at their Co Dublin home.

She's now detained at Clondalkin Garda Station under section four of the Criminal Justice Act.

The bodies of Conor (9), Darragh (7) and Carla (3) were found in "unexplained circumstances".

Mr Dunphy asked for continuing psychiatric treatment and assessment.

Det Sgt Kenny also applied for the accused to be remanded in custody until next Wednesday, February 5.

A woman in her forties was found by the gardaí near the scene, and has since received medical treatment at the Tallaght University Hospital.

Ms Morley (43) is charged with three counts of murder at an address in Parsons Court on Friday, January 24 last. She made no reply to each of the charges when they were put to her.

Andrew McGinley spoke of his devastation and grief at the deaths of his children.

In a brief statement released through An Garda Síochána, Ireland's police service, McGinley said: "There are no words".

"Conor, Darragh and Carla are thrilled".

'Every breath is a struggle. They all had handsome, bright futures ahead of them with family, friends and a community who love them.

"The future has now become our adversary yet we will fight it consistently to keep the memory of Conor, Darragh, and Carla alive.' The passings have stunned individuals from the nearby network who portrayed the area as a 'calm" territory.
