Solskjaer not fearing for job ahead of Tranmere trip

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is convinced he would be given time to complete his rebuilding project at Old Trafford and says he retains the backing of the club hierarchy.

It remains to be seen whether the Norwegian tactician will be given as long as a German rival to get things right.

Solskjaer pointed to Jurgen Klopp's success at Liverpool as proof of what can be achieved with time. After a game, you're disappointed and you're down, of course you are, and I'm not going to lie, it's not been nice losing two games. Jurgen [Klopp] spent four years building his team and they're doing well now.

According to reports, he will get at least one more summer transfer window in the past week to hire the players he needs. I am, the club is, the staff is very strong mentally and we stick to what we believe.

'We have started a clear-out and now I am going to be answering these questions until it [the transfer window] closes.

"The pitch is not great but that's the same for both of us and the players just have to be focused, ready, there are divots everywhere". All my conversations with the club have been positive " Said Solskjaer.

"For me, we do have a way of doing things". This group is a good core of players who believe in what we are doing to move them forward, "he said".

Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has claimed that Manchester United's current situation can never attract top players to think of going to Old Trafford. His photos in his initial days at the club and his images now prove that it takes a massive toll on any person who is in charge of United.

"You've got to go onto the next one with the right mentality". You get used to the ups and downs and as we've spoken about here you've got to get on with it when you do badly you know you've got a job to do.

Solskjaer has come under increased pressure after back-to-back English Premier League defeats by Liverpool and Burnley left them six points behind Chelsea, who occupy the fourth UEFA Champions League qualification spot.
