West Ham re-appoints David Moyes on 18-month deal

David Moyes said he had been given a second chance.

"My overall vision is to have a solid team, a very good football team, an offensive team and all of those things that I have to bring to the table and I hope to do so".

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: "David Moyes's appointment is being seen as a positive step with our customers at least, because we've been forced to cut their odds on beating relegation into 2/7 from 2/5 over the past 24 hours".

A confident Hammers performance got off to a fine start when Mark Noble's sidefoot from 20 yards was deflected past Aaron Ramsdale by the unfortunate Lewis Cook.

Moyes, whose only permanent commitment was Jordan Hugill for £ 10m, a short-term deal for Patrice Evra, and a loan agreement for Portuguese midfielder Joao Mario, said he was trying to get Fabianski to the club to replace former Adrian number one when Joe Hart signed his loan agreement.

"Put it that way, that's what I do".

Moyes confirmed that Irwin and ex-England England under 21 Stuart Pierce will be part of his back-up headquarters when he tries to save West Ham from falling.

"I think they're maybe trying to steady the ship with somebody they know, somebody who knows the club", Hutton told Football Insider.

Moyes has a more talented squad at his disposal. But I think more importantly I'll be looking to see what I can do and what I can make improvements to.

The former Manchester United boss felt he was starting to build something during his last stint with the London club, but he will now likely have to start again at the beginning. "We have to look to pick up points and move away from the position we are in".

"What I would say is it showed quite a lot of class from the owners", he insisted.

"I am coming here to West Ham initially to get us wins and get away from the bottom of the table".

And the Scot faces a renewed battle to win over an underwhelmed fan base, who have grown exhausted of Sullivan and Gold failing to deliver on their grand promises, and who still miss their spiritual home.

David Moyes press conference.Moyes that's what I do I win I've always won., urrm what exactly is it you've won David?? "We didn't talk about the past, we were just talking about the team now, what we have to do and the position we're in".

"All I'd said to him was "give us a Brazilian goal".
