Florida State vs. NC State Men's Basketball Highlights (2019-20)

STREAK STATS: Virginia Tech has dropped its last three road games, scoring 58 points and allowing 69.3 points during those contests.

The Seminoles quickly regrouped and mounted a surge to defend their floor and move atop the Atlantic Coast Conference - for now.

Francesca Pan scored 23 points and Georgia Tech beat No. 17 Florida State 65-62 on Sunday, giving the Yellow Jackets a season sweep. Then the Seminoles (23-4, 13-3 ACC) took over control of the game.

"We ... played in hostile situations before", Cone said. "We've been on the up-and-up basically since my freshman year". We're trying to show everybody that.

"We effectively eliminated Carey and Matthew Hurt [in the second half] and they went with ..." The Seminoles came out of the break and put together a 15-10 run over the remainder of the period before Lotta-Maj Lahtinen hit a jumper to end the frame for a 19-17 Tech lead after the first.

Because, in the early goings of the second half, the Cardinals didn't just seem poised to win the game. Jordan Nwora's 18 points and 11 rebounds - his fifth double-double of the season and 14th of his career - led the Cardinals while Malik Williams added 17 points and nine rebounds.

"The good thing about this team is we have a lot of holes in our game, so we still have a lot of room to improve", explained Florida State coach Leonard Hamilton. "I think our will to win that and our will to stay dialed in to what we were doing to make them take a bad shot, don't foul the three, came through for us". Freshman center John Ojiako had six points, four rebounds and a block in 20 minutes off the bench.

The Hokies and Blue Devils faced off once earlier this season in Cassell Coliseum with Tech leading by three at halftime before some second half adjustments propelled Duke to a comfortable 77-63 victory.

Stanley had made just 6 of 29 3-point attempts in his previous eight games, not making more than one 3-pointer in any game during that span.

Patrick Williams got his hand on the ball, and the whole building knew exactly what was coming.

The No. 6 Florida State Seminoles are once again marching on the warpath late in the season and their designs on a deep March run are in sight.

The Seminoles (21-5, 10-5) are looking to avenge an earlier loss to the Yellow Jackets (17-10, 8-8) on January 9.

Florida State posted its fourth sellout this season, drawing 11,500 fans to the Donald L. Tucker Center.

Tech turned the ball over only four times in the first half but committed 10 turnovers against Duke's halfcourt pressure and switching defenders in the second half. Unfortunately for the Hokies, they have to go on the road to arguably the toughest environment in college basketball against one of the ACC's top 3 teams this season, Duke.

Most of the players on the Virginia Tech men's basketball team are about to do something they have never done before.

FSU hosts Louisville on Monday before traveling to Clemson on Saturday.
