Vile scammers try to cash in on Oatlands crash tragedy

The group of seven children had been travelling on the footpath on their way to buy ice cream when police believe the four-wheel drive mounted the kerb and hit them, The Sunday Telegraph reports.

All four kids were walking along a path in Oatlands on Saturday night when the horrific crash occurred. Siblings Antony, 13, Angelina, 12 and Sienna Abdallah, 9 were killed in the crash with their cousin Veronique Sakr, 11. Their 10-year burden was in serious but stable condition.

Police allege the driver had been drinking at home with friends before he got behind the wheel to withdraw cash at a service station. We loved our kids so much...

Davidson was arrested after returning a positive roadside breath test result and allegedly recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.15. I ask him to take everything away from me, but my children.

The driver was uninjured.

The 29-year-old driver who was not named ought to stand trial on Sunday dealing with 20 costs, together with manslaughter and high-range drink driving following the incident late Saturday in the Oatlands suburb of western Sydney, in response to AFP.

He did not appear in court and did not request bail that was officially refused by magistrate John McIntosh.

His case was heard before the Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday.

"I opened my eyes this morning, I was waiting for Antony, Angelina and Sienna ... you see all of them around each other, cheering each other up, lifting each other".

Earlier, the three siblings" father, Danny Abdallah, 41, addressed the media saying his children "were in a better place'. He said his cousin had also lost an 11-year-old child in the tragedy, Veronique Sakr.

Daniel Abdallah and his wife Leila lost three of their six children on Saturday night.

"The guy, I know he was [allegedly] drunk, driving on this street. I'm numb, in all probability that's how I really feel at the second", he mentioned in an announcement. "I'm numb", Mr Abdallah said.

"These kids just walked innocently, enjoyed each other's company ... and this morning I woke up and lost three kids", he added. Abdallah said the injured boy, Charbel, was in a coma and that his third daughter, Mabelle, was fine.

A fifth child was taken to a nearby hospital in a critical condition.

"It's very, very hard for police, for fire rescue, for paramedics to be confronted with such chaos and carnage".

Flowers placed at the scene where seven children were hit.

Acting superintendent for Police NSW Danielle Emerton said the families of the children were front of mind.

Acting Assistant Police Commissioner Jason Joyce said the driver remained at the scene until the police arrived and there were indications his 24-year-old male passenger tried to help some of the children.

Speaking of his son, Mr Davidson said, "He is so, so sorry".
