BYE BYE ROYALS: Prince Harry, Meghan bow out from official roles

Together with Prince Harry they went to the "Mountbatten Festival of Music", a benefit event of the Royal Navy, in London's Royal Albert Hall on Saturday evening.

Monday will be the couple's final royal engagement, at least for now, when they join the queen and other members of the royal family at Westminster Abbey at a Commonwealth Day service.

Harry, 35, and Meghan, 38, will stop using their HRH titles - His or Her Royal Highness, will not use "royal" in their branding and Harry, who will remain a prince, will relinquish his military titles. "Meghan found it amusing and I'm sure Harry will as well".

As the Daily Mail's royal correspondent, Rebecca English, posted on Twitter, unlike a year ago Harry and Meghan "will be conducted to their seats rather than waiting for the Queen's arrival and walking through the Abbey with the monarch and other senior royals".

It marks the first time Meghan will have seen the British monarch after she and Prince Harry dramatically announced they were quitting as royals, reports The Sun.

In one of her last solo engagements as a working royal Meghan, who said that 10-month-old Archie is trying to walk, spoke with delighted pupils at the Robert Clack Upper School in Dagenham, east London, and met one of the women who fought an historic equal pay battle in the nearby Ford auto plant.

Not to mention, they were spotted at the ceremony creating an entire new love language out of the simple act of hand-holding. The Queen arrived in a light blue ensemble with a matching hat.

That same month, Meghan fought back tears during an ITV interview as she discussed her struggles with the pressures of royal life, coupled with being a new mom and dealing with the intense media scrutiny in the United Kingdom.

When Meghan and Harry first arrived they were greeted by the Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr David Hoyle, and met a group of dignitaries including Boris Johnson and the Commonwealth's secretary-general Baroness Scotland.

The couple are expected to earn their keep at least partly through speaking engagements, which can net as much as $400,000 per event for the most sought after speakers such as former U.S. President Barack Obama.

The queen and the couple have agreed to renew the new arrangements in 12 months time, giving them a route back to royal life.

"I mean, it must have been such a poignant moment for him to be sitting, facing the backs of the heads of all the people in his family that he used to be close to and knowing that he was about to leave", she said.

'I hope you didn't mind me cuddling your wife.

Harry, who has always had a close relationship with his grandmother, also had a private lunch with the monarch at Windsor Castle last Sunday before Meghan arrived in the United Kingdom from Vancouver Island in Canada, where she, Harry and Archie have been staying in recent months.
