Could the Cardinals make a trade for WR DeAndre Hopkins?

On Monday, news first broke that the Arizona Cardinals were trading running back David Johnson to the Texans.

The move will be a blow to the Texans quarterback, Deshaun Watson.

The Texans made Hopkins the No. 27 overall selection in 2013 after playing college football at Clemson.

As such, they traded him for pennies on the dollar in exchange for an oft-injured running back and a few draft picks.

Arizona gets a true WR1 and the Cards can double up next month and take advantage of a deep wide receiver class.

Hopkins has three years remaining on a five-year, $81m extension signed in August 2017.

Since Gordon is an Indianapolis native and a fan of the rival Colts, who play in the same division as the Texans, he probably wasn't as disappointed to hear the news as most others were around Houston. He was a first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowler each year. He finished with 104 receptions for 1,165 yards and seven touchdowns a season ago, while helping Houston to a 10-6 record and guiding them to their second straight playoff appearance.

Hopkins is one of the most reliable and explosive players in the league and would certainly give the Giants a monster vertical passing attack along with Sterling Shepard, Golden Tate, Evan Engram and Darius Slayton. "Man, I thought DeAndre Hopkins would never leave Houston", Gordon wrote on Twitter.
