Kevin Durant Tests Positive For COVID-19

Yet on Tuesday, the NBA's Brooklyn Nets announced that four of its players had tested positive for the virus, including three who had no symptoms at all.

In the Nets statement, meanwhile, the team said of the players who were diagnosed, three were asymptomatic while the fourth is now exhibiting symptoms.

Brooklyn got its COVID-19 results on Tuesday after the team was tested upon return from San Francisco last week, sources said.

"All four players are presently isolated and under the care of team physicians", the club said.

The NBA did not specifically respond to criticisms of players being tested, but reasoned that doing so was in the interest of public health.

Given what experts know about the incubation period of the coronavirus, it is quite possible that Nets players were already infected with the illness at the time of that matchup.

Durant's positive test comes after Utah Jazz teammates Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell contracted the virus, which continues to disrupt sports around the globe. The Nets have advised all players and members of their traveling party to "remain isolated, closely monitor their health and maintain constant communication" with medical staff, according to a statement.

"I saw that news", Warriors coach Steve Kerr said of the Nets' positive tests while speaking on a conference call. Since then, nearly all global sports have ceased play.

National Basketball Association spokesman Mike Bass on Tuesday defended the league's teams getting coronavirus tests, considering that some players had tested positive last week.

Gobert apologized for the day after the N.B.A. season was postponed, saying "I was careless and make no excuse". Durant had not played this season due to a torn Achilles tendon.
