XFL suspends '20 regular season, committed to '21

The coronavirus has changed a lot of pro wrestling events.

ORIGINAL: According to Konnor Fulk of XFL News Hub, the XFL will be suspending their season due to the Coronavirus. Players will be paid base pay and benefits for the 2020 regular season.

"The XFL is committed to playing a full season in 2021 and future years", the league said via a statement. We're just now learning that the XFL has informed their players that they are free to sign with the NFL or any other league once their exit physicals are completed tomorrow.

The XFL teams have 31 players from Alabama high schools and colleges on their rosters. Some players, such as quarterbacks, were expected to earn up to $250,000.

The XFL follows the lead of nearly all other major sports organizations, which have either suspended, delayed or outright canceled seasons or events.

For five weeks, Korren Kirven worked with Team 9, the name given to the XFL's league-wide practice squad.

The league will attempt to play at least the championship game in a few weeks, one source added.
