Broncos Von Miller "doing well" after testing positive for coronavirus

Broncos Von Miller

News of Miller's diagnosis came a day after Los Angeles Rams center Brian Allen revealed he was the first National Football League player to test positive for coronavirus.

When NFL insider Jay Glazer reported that Los Angeles Rams center Brian Allen was the first NFL player to test positive for COVID-19, part of me wondered if we would learn of more cases down the line. The three-time All-Pro has 106 sacks and 216 QB hits in 135 games across nine seasons with the Broncos.

From NFL plays to college sports scores, all the top sports news you need to know every day.

"It's true", Miller told 9NEWS' Mike Klis. "I've been here in Denver for about four weeks now". "I have to be quarantined here at the house".

Miller went on the TODAY Show on Friday to share his story with a broader audience. He was 59 years old. "My girlfriend she told me when I was asleep she said my cough it didn't sound normal". "But this time was different". "It didn't work like it should".

He waited another day.

Miller said he first tried using a nebulizer, which he often uses to help with his asthma. More than 8,200 have tested positive in Colorado, where Miller has stayed since leaving his San Francisco training facility to abide by stay-at-home orders; 355 in Colorado have died from complications. According to the team, Allen felt slight symptoms, but is feeling much better. Miller has a history of asthma and can't afford to take this lightly.

The confirmation of the first positive tests for NFL players comes a month after the first National Basketball Association players tested positive, which caused the league to suspends its season.

Last week, Miller was unanimously selected to the NFL's all-decade team for the 2010s.

"Whatever's safe", Miller said. "We shouldn't move too fast, just do whatever's safe".
