Encounter Breaks Out Between Terrorists, Security Forces In Srinagar

A CRPP man and a Jammu and Kashmir police personnel were injured in the firing by militants, police said. According to reports, during the search operation, there were reports of hiding of terrorists. Two AK-47 rifles and other arms and ammunition were claimed to have been recovered from the slain duo.

Junaid is the son of senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai.

An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar on Tuesday, police said.

"In last night's operation, two terrorists were killed".

The authorities have suspended low speed mobile internet and the voice calling service of all operators except for BSNL has also been snapped in Srinagar district. But fresh contact was established with the militants around 8 am, the official said. This information has been given by the police of Kashmir Zone.

Last week, Hizbul suffered a blow when its top commander Riyaz Naikoo was killed during an encounter by Indian forces in Handwara's Beighpora village.
