Microsoft to Share Monthly Xbox News Starting With May's Inside Xbox

Each one will be Xbox Series X optimized and some will use Smart Delivery.

As you would expect Microsoft is looking to get the Xbox 20/20 series and all of the Xbox Series X updates in front of as many gamers as possible so it will appear on the Xbox account of virtually every major platform.

Be sure to tune in on May 7 at 8am PT/11am ET when Microsoft hosts its Xbox Series X gameplay showcase. Could something be in the pipeline that EA knows about?

Since the Xbox Series X launch window is set for holiday 2020, even if there is a wait, it wouldn't be a very long one. However, Microsoft is being relentless with getting ahead of Sony in terms of announcements and reveals, and this week is no different.

We have new updates and titles lined up for Xbox Game Pass for console and PC. Every game shown off during the May 7th Inside Xbox episode will be Xbox Series X Optimized, "meaning they are built to take advantage of the powerful Xbox Series X features that make games look and feel incredible, including 4K resolution at up to 120 frames per second, DirectStorage, hardware-accelerated DirectX raytracing, super-fast load times and much more".

That doesn't lock down that all of those games will be released on PC right at the same time as they hit Xbox, however that point is included with Microsoft's overall 2020 plans.

Microsoft said in a blog post that the company remains focused at launching Xbox Series X and Halo Infinite this Holiday. Assassin's Creed Valhalla will headline the event, but Microsoft has promised that other third-party titles will be on display as well. And in July, the company will highlight new games from its own Xbox Game Studios.

Today, Microsoft outlined its ongoing plans for showing off everything Xbox in a monthly series called "Xbox 20/20" along with a first look at the boot animation for the Xbox Series X (via BGR).

Xbox confirms that if you want to watch the 4K stream of this first episode, you should watch it on YouTube.

The first episode of Xbox 20/20 will start Thursday, May 7 at 11 a.m. EDT.
