Reade: 'I didn't use sexual harassment' in Biden complaint

"I know that I was too scared to write about the sexual assault".

On Saturday, Reade disputed an Associated Press report in which she is reported as having said that she had not explicitly referenced sexual harassment or assault in her original complaint. She said: 'We need to give people an opportunity to tell their story.

"There are no personnel records in the Biden papers at the university", Biden said. The AP interviewed Reade in 2019 after she accused Biden of uncomfortable and inappropriate touching.

But critics in both parties are saying that Democrats and the media have brushed off the standard of "believe all women" that they set in the hearings on sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

The existence of the Senate report has become a key element of the accusations against Biden, which he has flatly denied.

He has directed Senate officials to find and release a written complaint that Reade says she filed at the time, but Biden insists does not exist.

Reade made her detailed allegations public for the first time in March, after Biden had sewn up the Democratic presidential nomination.

"Biden is an "open book" who has been thoroughly vetted, the former labor secretary told ABC's This Week, adding: "[The Obama administration] looked at the entire history of Joe Biden, his entire career.

"I think she proved [herself] in this interview that went against the detractors who said it was going to be a liberal and softball interview entirely", Turner said.

A second-term state representative from Manchester has resigned from his position over a statement made on Twitter.

Though Reade did not clarify what she was referring to, the AP's story was being used by Biden's defenders as evidence that Reade's allegations are not credible.

She maintains that she neither has a copy of the complaint nor remembers specific details of its content, telling NBC News she is "not sure" what wording she used.

The Atlantic reported Reade "abruptly" canceled an interview with Chris Wallace on "Fox News Sunday" this morning. One is that women deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, and when they step forward they should be heard, not silenced. Biden acknowledged the complaints and promised to be "more mindful about respecting personal space in the future".

WBZ reported that Rep. Richard Komi, a Democrat from Manchester, New Hampshire, posted a tweet that called into question one of Reade's claims, which included that Biden put his hand under her skirt.

"It's not true, I'am saying never happened", Biden said during lengthy questioning by co-host Mika Brzezinski.

Tara Reade, a former congressional aide, alleges Biden assaulted her in a Senate corridor in 1993. She says she was sacked from Biden's office after filing a complaint with the Senate alleging harassment.

Perez also compared the accusations against Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, to the email controversy that dogged Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election. "They were dismissive and hurtful to survivors of sexual assault across the Granite State and across the country".
