EA shows off new Star Wars and Federation Internationale de Football Association games

Immerse yourself in strategic multiplayer space battles and a thrilling STAR WARS™ single-player story, seen from alternating perspectives between the New Republic and the Empire.

While the player customization options for starfighter colors, bobbleheads, and how a pilot looks are purely cosmetic, its components options are not. However, we have compiled a list of top announcements from the EA Play Live event so you don't have to.

There are some other rumours going around that this game will come with crossplay too, but nothing official from the developers yet. The free-to-play battle royale game Apex Legends will be released on Steam and Nintendo Switch later this year, and it will also get support for cross-play multiplayer. Squadrons take place in a universe that is after the Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

During last night's EA Play, the publisher revealed the first look at gameplay from the upcoming Star Wars: Squadrons. The only difference being that players would need at least one Radeon RX 480 for non-VR or minimum VR rigs, and a Radeon RX 570 for VR rigs.

Star Wars Squadrons, meanwhile, is described as "an immersive, first-person space dogfighting experience set in the beloved Star Wars galaxy".

There's a lot in common with the classic X-Wing and Tie Fighter games, as you balance your fighter's shields against power, put power to the engines to try and race ahead of your foes and spin back round on them. This comes after EA's earlier decision to provide access to its games on Valve's digital platform. It will also introduce a mobile respawn beacon, that each player will have at the start of each match.

EA Play Live 2020, Electronic Arts' livestreamed not-E3 event, is just a couple of hours away. Additionally, there are more than 50 ship upgrades / talents to earn through gameplay.

EA provided a lengthy video trailer as well as a number of modes and features players can enjoy when the game drops in October.

There probably wasn't enough time for EA to do much more than release its two Battlefront games in that time period, to be fair.
