Sony Introduces PlayStation Indies Initiative

"We trust indie developers with strong vision will continue to bring ideas that have never been tried before, creating whole new genres of games advancing the art and meaning of video games".

Seranno also revealed that there is no planned event at this time related to PlayStation.

Shuhei Yoshida, former President of SIE Worldwide Studios and current head of PlayStation Indies has announced a new initiative for Sony via the PlayStation Blog. This meant that the announcement might just come as a PlayStation Blog post or a social media announcement. With PlayStation Indies, we hope to spotlight and support the best of the best indie games being published on PlayStation and the entire indie community as a whole. His goal is to "make PlayStation the best place to develop, find and play great indie games".

When Yoshida made the announcement, he noted there would be nine new PlayStation Indies games announced soon, with three of them revealed on July 1, 2020.

This new rumor was posted on a Twitter account of Jeff Grubb's infamous Summer Games Mess updates. Going forward, Yoshida noted one new game will be added each month.

The game is based in a recursive world, that is to say a setting within which you can find a miniaturised version of itself, while also being encased in a very big version of itself. Do any of these newly announced games interest you?

Publisher Annapurna Interactive are on a roll of publishing touching stories wrapped up in all manner of indie games, from last year's indie pop concept album of a game Sayonara Wild Hearts, to the recently ported story of a young woman's first love in Florence.
