The global healthcare giant Johnson & Johnson has announced the company's deal of Dollars 1 billion with the government of the United States for the production and delivery of the company's COVID-19 vaccine now underway for clinical trials. Johnson & Johnson Inc. said it has signed an agreement with the U.S.to deliver 100 million doses of its COVID-19 vaccine. Switzerland's current population is about 8.7 million, according to the Worldometer.
Anand said Pfizer is evaluating at least four experimental vaccine candidates and is now undergoing clinical trials.
"We continue to be committed to partnering with the Canadian government to help fight this pandemic and are pleased with their collaborative approach to addressing a national COVID-19 immunization strategy with public health officials", Pfizer Canada President Cole Pinnow said in a release.
The government is also talking to other vaccine companies and has allocated 300 million Swiss francs ($329 million) to the project. It did not specify the value of the Moderna deal.
Moderna's mRNA-1273: The Moderna last week announced that it has started phase 3 clinical trials in the United States for its vaccine candidate mRNA-1273 to treat the coronavirus.
All potential vaccines will require Health Canada regulatory approval, Anand said, adding that her ministry was procuring the equipment supplies needed to perform the final manufacturing and packaging in Canada.
