Active Cases of COVID-19 in Sheridan County

Butte County Public Health says 15 of the recently confirmed cases on August 26 have been connected to an apartment complex in Chico near the University campus, meaning these cases are among people ages 18 to 24.

As schools begin to reopen in Florida, the state has confirmed that almost 9,000 children had contracted COVID-19 over a 15-day period in August, according to data from the Florida Department of Health.

The San Luis Obispo County Public Health Department is asking for the public's feedback on testing.

The recovery rate improved slightly to 79.2 per cent now that 4,199 people who tested positive for the virus have recovered.

It also requires schools, child care centers, and shelters to notify staff, faculty, students, parents, and guardians of outbreaks - defined as two or more cases - within 24 hours.

Updated exposure events are listed on the B.C. Centre for Disease Control website. This includes 22 in hospital and in seven in critical care. Anyone at moderate risk must stay in quarantine for 14 days after they were potentially exposed to the virus, regardless of test results.

Health officials earlier this summer had noted a similar group outbreak in neighboring Lincoln County tied to a campground concert.

In addition to the increase in COVID-19 cases in children, the state saw hospitalizations rise from 436 to 602 among children as well.

Funerals, tubing parties and graduation gatherings have all collectively contributed hundreds of infections, state health officials said.

The North Island region has recorded 62 two cases. From Aug. 20-26, the state administered 151,008 COVID-19 tests.

There have been 131,156 COVID-19 cases in Pennsylvania, according to the health department.

"It's not the favorite way I guess to have your name put out there but I also think it's important that transparency exists", he said.
