Chelsea close to signing Havertz, Chilwell, Thiago Silva

Chelsea are on the verge of signing Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth £90million.

Blues manager Frank Lampard is also expected to tie up deals for Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva this week and, having already signed attackers Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech plus defender Xavier Mbuyamba, the new arrivals will take Chelsea's summer signings past the £200m mark.

SunSport reports that the West London club has now been given the green light to finalise his deal after Roman Abramovich released a sum of £150 million for the move.

Sources close to the club claim the deal is valued around £90m plus add-ons in what will become the club's record signing.

This means that Kepa Arrizabalaga's £71.6m move from Athletic Bilbao means he is now the second most expensive player in the Blues squad.

"The transfer is flawless".

Frank Lampard is also set to add Chilwell to his squad, with talks between them and Leicester continuing on Monday.

The Blues have been chasing the German hotshot, 21, all summer.

Chelsea hope to secure a deal for around £45m for Rice, rather than stumping up for his £90m valuation.

Romano claims that Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen are now working through the paper work before an announcement will be made so it looks like this deal will be confirmed shortly.

Havertz has always been linked with a transfer to Chelsea FC this summer and he has earned a reputation as one of the top young attacking midfielders in Europe.

On the other hand, they have reportedly managed to convince Leicester City to give Ben Chilwell for around £50million.
