Mark Meadows says 2020 election will happen on November 3

Trump, seeking to already undermine the results of an election he could lose, demanded the victor of the November 3 contest be known that night.

It is unclear whether the C-SPAN broadcaster will be allowed to air the RNC, where party members will nominate President Donald Trump to stand in the November election.

Mr Meadows took up his boss's cause on Sunday, warning that mail-in ballots must be handled properly without providing evidence that they have not been in the past.

But President Donald Trump has not shied away from his insistence for in-person voting over universal mail-in voting, tweeting on Thursday, July 30 that he'd like to delay the 2020 election, a decision on which the president holds no authority.

Trump raised the possibility of delaying the upcoming election in a Thursday morning tweet, in which he repeated unfounded claims that a shift toward more mail-in ballot voting will lead to widespread fraud in the November 3 election.

"Never in the history of the Congress, through wars, depressions and the Civil War have we ever not had a federally scheduled election on time and we'll find a way to do that again this November third", added Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) during a radio interview. In an election as close as 2016′s, a delayed tally in key states could keep news organisations from calling a victor. DeJoy's month in charge of the organization has led to delays in mail as overtime has been cut, generating concerns over the agency's ability to handle an increase in Americans casting their ballots by mail.

Trump has compared mail-in ballots to foreign interference.

Miller criticized efforts by states including Nevada for moving toward expanding mail-in balloting during emergencies like the coronavirus epidemic, as well as other states that will count ballots postmarked November 3 that arrive after Election Day.

"The media knows this", Trump said when railing against the differences between mail-in voting and absentee ballots. The AP news agency regularly calls races before the official vote count is complete, using models based on partial results, past races and extensive polling.

"People will be voting in droves, tens of percentage points higher by mail than before", said Gupta.
