Mourinho takes thinly-veiled dig at Fernandes, Man Utd -NK#134348

United were awarded 14 penalties this term which is a Premier League record and Fernandes was the designated penalty taker for them since his move from Sporting Lisbon in the January transfer window.

In just over 1400 minutes on the park, Ndombele has scored two goals and provided his teammates with a total of four assists.

Many have been critical of the Portuguese player calling him out for his dives, which had earned him penalties.

Earlier this month, Mourinho said Ndombele is able to turn his Spurs career around, after facing multiple questions for his criticism of the Frenchman's performance at Burnley in March.

It can not, however, be denied that Bruno Fernandes has always performed well in converting penalties, especially during critical matches.

However, Mourinho couldn't resist taking a sly dig at his compatriot after he netted United's 14th penalty of the 2019/20 season in their 2-0 win over Leicester City this weekend - which earned them third place in the English top-flight.

If the future of Manchester United really does involve "winning trophies and winning Premier Leagues" then this quintet should leave and these folks can be the foundations...

Manchester United alum Paul Scholes, however, don't see qualifying for the Champions League as an achievement for his old team.

Chelsea are one of a number of clubs who continue to monitor developments at Old Trafford, in case agreement on a new contract is not reached.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised Manchester United's scouting department after the signing of Bruno Fernandes fired the Red Devils into the Champions League.
