"Wrong!" Trump Whines Over Fauci Testimony On COVID Surge

On Friday morning, leading infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci and other members of the White House coronavirus task force testified before a House subcommittee on the Trump administration's coronavirus response. "One can never guarantee the safety or effectiveness unless you do the trial, but we are cautiously optimistic".

"Wrong!" Trump wrote in a retweet of a video where Fauci explained to a House subcommittee that the USA has seen more cases than European countries because it only shut down a fraction of its economy amid the pandemic.

During the hearing, Fauci was been asked about why the Europe did better job than the U.S.in the aspect of containing COVID-19.

"Crowding particularly when you're not wearing a mask contributes to the spread of the virus", Fauci replied.

Trump appeared to be watching, tweeting insults at the media and Democrats and insisting that the high case numbers in the US were due to increased testing - an assertion that his own administration has repeatedly said is not true.

Almost 4.5 million Americans have been infected with COVID-19, and more than 150,000 have died.

"Some were followed very carefully and some were not".

In his testimony, Fauci argues that a hesitancy to shut down more of the country made a baseline impact so that when the country "we were more vulnerable to a renewed surge in cases". While making this point, Scalise ignored the fact that the government is still yet to issue any mandatory rules on the matter, all the while there are more than 150,000 virus-related deaths and the number keeps growing.

'Because of my strong focus on the China Virus, including scheduled meetings on Vaccines, our economy and much else, I won't be able to be in NY to throw out the opening pitch for the Yankees on August 15, ' he Sunday, using a slur to reference the coronavirus.

Results from a study from South Korea, published by the CDC, show older kids most likely transmit COVID-19 to their household at rates similar to adults.

Rapid, widespread testing is critical to containing the coronavirus outbreak, but the USA effort has been plagued by supply shortages and backlogs.

Democrats said the Trump administration initially prevented Fauci from testifying to the panel by saying he was unavailable for the entire month of July and relented only after House Majority Whip James Clyburn wrote to Vice President Mike Pence. I've had for a long time - right from the beginning. Students need to return to the classroom so their parents can return to work, he has said, putting him at odds with public health officials.

Those simple steps can deliver "the same bang for the buck as if we just shut the entire economy down", said a frustrated Dr Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, adding that he has studies to back that up.

Fauci's warnings about the scope and dangers of the outbreak have drawn the ire of some of President Trump's supporters and prompted calls for his firing. "I'm telling you what it is the danger".
