SpaceX makes first polar orbit launch from Florida in 'decades'

SpaceX has successfully launched the SAOCOM-1B satellite for the Argentinian Space Agency, CONAE - the first polar trajectory launch from Florida's Space Coast in 60 years. This mission marks SpaceX's initially start to a polar orbit from the East Coastline, and the initially polar start from Florida in decades.Falcon 9's initially stage formerly introduced Dragon to the Worldwide Room Station for SpaceX's 19th and 20th industrial resupply missions, and it also supported start of SpaceX's ninth Starlink mission.

With the SAOCOM 1B mission organized by SpaceX, the American company launched its 100th rocket.

"Targeting launch of SAOCOM 1B at 7:18 p.m. EDT tonight". However, that plan was put to rest by bad weather conditions, which delayed the launch of a Starlink mission.

Liftoff was at 10:31 a.m. ET from SpaceX's launch site at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. The double header fell into place after a dramatic last-second abort early Saturday of a United Launch Alliance Delta 4 Heavy rocket carrying a classified National Reconnaissance Office spy satellite.

The aerospace business has scheduled two again-to-again Falcon 9 launches in Florida, just 9 hours aside. SpaceX may offer coverage of the satellite deployments, too, as well as footage of its net-equipped ships attempting to catch the rocket's nose cone as it returns to Earth in two parts, a tricky maneuver that it appears to be close to nailing. All U.S. polar orbit missions since 1969 have taken off from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California where rockets remain above the Pacific Ocean all the way to orbit.

SpaceX has launched almost 600 satellites so far for its Starlink project, which aims to build a constellation of satellites capable of providing Internet coverage from orbit. The first stage even landed safely at LZ1 in Florida. It'll use radar to monitor Earth for disasters that could affect its agricultural, mining and other industries.

"One of the things we develop is soil moisture maps, not only of the surface, but taking advantage of the L-band capabilities we can measure the soil moisture 1 meter below the surface of the land".
