"I Laughed When God Called Me To Be President" - Rapper, Kanye West

In the conversation, West said that it was his calling to be the "leader of the free world".

US Presidential candidate/musical artist/fashion mogul Kanye West has been known to cry "release date" on several occasions... more so when it comes to his own strangely elusive albums than anything else, but the notion stands.

The video was the first major bid by West, formerly one of President Donald Trump's biggest celebrity supporters, to be taken as a serious contender for the White House. The American rapper said that it just "hit" him while he was in the shower.

'They told me I was bipolar and I remember going on TMZ and saying slavery was a choice, and they medicated me for having that opinion and saying it out loud.

"That's not to say we haven't had visionaries before", he clarified. "And I remember one of my responses to one of the naysayers was well 'I'll definitely be a billionaire by that time, and not that that's a reason why someone should become President, but its to say, you know, at that time I was $50 million in debt". For better or worse, Kanye's mind does work differently - it's the same mind that gave us The College Dropout and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, the same mind that continues to invent and reinvent itself in a seemingly perpetual cycle of non-stop creation.

"I was hanging out with different friends that were some people in the music industry, some people tech elites, and they just really took it as a joke". I'm one of the greatest product producers that ever existed-and I'm a child.

"I'm willing to [reveal my contracts] because it's the right thing to do", Kanye explained around the 12:40 mark.

West spent a large portion of the interview discussing his new venture into religious music. "I felt that spirit", he said.

"At that point the music is losing money to me", he said. "My $5 billion net worth and $300 million of cash that I see a year-music is like negative $4 million for me". These deals can be tipped so that they are only fairer.

Rogan appeared to be more than sympathetic when it came to West's well-chronicled issues with mental health, during which he suggested medications can "kill genius". He also claimed that his thoughts are better described as a "symphony of ideas" than a rant. "But when I put those [music] contracts up I'm saying that was a choice".

"When I made Sunday Service, I completely stopped rapping, because I don't know how to rap for God". I'm just telling the truth, and telling the truth is insane in a world full of lies.
