IPhone 12 launch event

Apple took the wraps off the iPhone 12, the tech giant's first smartphones that support 5G wireless technology. This year's new model brings quite a number of changes with bigger screen sizes, a new squared off design that is reminiscent of the iPhone 4, and full 5G connectivity.

Apple could announce as many as four new versions of the iPhone when it holds a live event on Tuesday to unveil its iPhone 12 range for the first time.

Just hours before Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 12 series while fellow journos are busy writing a rough draft, prolific leakster Evan Blass has dropped a bombshell.

Consumers believe that Apple may be running out of ideas for the new iPhones.

Belkin is also designing a new array of Apple phone accessories, like a new auto dock that will let your phone hang out on the dash and a new charging stand.

The iPhone 12 Pro has a triple-camera system that is getting a few extra features over its smaller brother with a 65mm equivalent focal length telephoto lens for up to 5x optical zoom, plus wide-angle camera features a 47% larger sensor with Optical Image Stabilization. Apple is also removing the power adapter and EarPods from iPhone packaging, further reducing carbon emissions and avoiding the mining and use of precious materials, which enables smaller and lighter packaging, and allows for 70 percent more boxes to be shipped on a pallet. Smart HDR 3 promises to adjust details like white balance, contrast, and texture for more natural-looking photos, and video recording includes Dolby Vision grading. Both models do come with a Lightning to USB-C charging cable.

The iPhone 12 Pro will be available to pre-order from 16 October for a 23 October shipping date, while the Pro Max will be available to pre-order on the 6 November and available to buy from the 13 November.
