Kamala Harris Suspends Campaign Travel Schedule, 2 Associates Contract COVID

Kamala Harris, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, will suspend in-person events until Monday after two people associated with the campaign tested positive for coronavirus.

Neither staff member have had close contact with Biden, Harris or any other campaign staffers since testing positive or in the 48 hours prior to their test result.

Harris, who the campaign said tested negative for the coronavirus on Wednesday and is set to be tested again on Thursday, had planned an aggressive travel schedule in the run-up to the 3 November election between her running mate Joe Biden and President Donald Trump.

Both individuals went to personal, non-campaign events in the past week. However, the campaign added both individuals were on a flight with Harris on October 8. "The allies, growing increasingly nervous about Biden's verbal flubs, have said it's an approach that's been suggested to campaign officials on the heels of the former vice president's stumbles".

The Biden Harris campaign has maintained strict protocols to protect their team, which includes closing their campaign office in Philadelphia and having staff work remotely.

They were both on a flight with Harris Oct. 8.

According to a statement from Biden's physician, Dr. Kevin O'Connor, both Biden and his wife Jill tested negative for the virus.

The campaign learned of the positive tests Wednesday, according to a statement from the campaign.

About 49 per cent of respondents indicated that Harris's nomination made them more enthusiastic about Biden's candidacy while just 15 per cent said it made them less enthusiastic.

Biden's campaign began selling fly swatter merchandise within minutes of the vice presidential candidates leaving the stage, while the social media is still abuzz with jokes and memes. As a result, there is no requirement for her to quarantine, the campaign said.

Asked how the episode would affect the campaign, O'Malley Dillon said it illustrated a central Biden message: "This shows how seriously we take COVID".

Harris shared her life story as the descendant of a Jamaican father and an Indian mother. O'Malley Dillon added that all other staffers on the flight have also tested negative since October 8.

He will return to in-person campaigning on Friday, October 16th.

She said that she had tested negative twice this week and is not experiencing any symptoms.

Throughout the campaign, Biden has underscored the differences between the way he has taken precautions against infection and Trump's more cavalier approach.
