Lana Del Rey Slammed For Meeting Fans With Mesh Mask

Followers of singer Lana Del Rey were not impressed when she appeared in public wearing a mesh face mask recently.

The Young and lovely singer held a public event for her poetry collection in Los Angeles, and wore a silver face mask which appeared not to offer herself and her fans much protection.

In Los Angeles, where the event was held, everyone is mandated to wear face coverings while in public in order to stop the spread of COVID-19.

It wasn't the book that was the issue though, as fans weren't happy that the singer wasn't following Covid-19 safety regulations after she turned up to the event wearing a see-through mesh face mask.

"NOT THE MESH MASK", one person exclaimed, apparently stunned by its return; others begged her never to wear it again.

"My friend saw Lana del Rey out and about in that same embellished-mesh mask from Interview Magazine feature. which is NOT A SAFE MASK leading me to wonder.is Lana del Rey anti-mask??", tweeted one user. "Calm down", one wrote, while another shared a picture of a close-up of Lana's mask where clear tape could be seen on her nose.

Del Rey hasn't directly addressed the controversy but shared a new video Sunday in which she wore a thicker cloth covering and recited the poem "Never to Heaven". She wore a glittery mesh face mask which appeared to provide no barrier to respiratory droplets at the event. She may as well not even be wearing a mask.

Del Rey's followers were very critical of her choice of face mask. "Please wear a real mask".

In fan photos, Rey poses without social distancing, prompting criticism that she's endangering herself and fans. Either way, it's an important reminder to us all to wear appropriate face masks during this time period.

In a caption that accompanies one of the photos from the September shoot, the magazine states that the mask belongs to Del Rey, but it did not provide any further details as to who made it.
