Odell Beckham out for season with torn ACL in Browns crusher

Cleveland Browns Odell Beckham Jr. will sit out the remainder of the 2020-21 National Football League season after confirming to Josina Anderson his ACL is torn.

NFL Network reports a knee injury he sustained early in Cleveland's 37-34 win at Cincinnati is believed to be major.

Beckham tore his left anterior cruciate ligament on Cleveland's first possession Sunday.

Beckham was injured when quarterback Baker Mayfield's first pass of the game was intercepted by the Bengals' Darius Phillips.

With the Oakland Raiders (3-3) coming to town and OBJ out for the season, the Browns will need Baker to play with the same confidence and poise he showed against Joe Burrow and the Bengals.

The injury is another tough blow for Beckham, whose production has been limited in recent seasons because he can't stay healthy. That leaves Jarvis Landry and Rashard Higgins as Cleveland's top 2 WRs.

The news was confirmed after Beckham got an MRI on Monday morning.

Before getting hurt, Beckham was showing some of the breakaway speed that made him one of the NFL's most risky game-breaking threats.

In 2020, Beckham appeared in seven games and caught 23 passes for 319 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
