'Chill': Greta Thunberg takes aim at Trump amid U.S. election

Almost a year on, the environmentalist got her revenge on Trump as the President demanded the counting of votes in the U.S. election stop with rival Joe Biden edging closer to victory.

When Donald Trump took to Twitter to take out his frustration of trailing behind in the United States election results, Thunberg retweeted Donald Trump's tweet of "STOP THE COUNT" with "Chill Donald, Chill!"

In the tweet, Trump told Thunberg, 17, to work on her "anger management problem" and to "go to an old-fashioned movie with a friend". Using Trump's 2019 tweet as a template, Greta tweeted, "Chill Donald, Chill!".

"So ridiculous. Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend!" Chill Donald, Chill! she wrote, in a ideal riposte, which has received some 1.2 million likes.

"So ridiculous", Thunberg tweeted in reply to Trump's earlier "STOP THE COUNT!" rant.

Back in December 2019, Thunberg was mocked by Donald Trump in a tweet when she was named TIME magazine's person of the year.

His rival, Joe Biden, has narrowed the gap in a number of undecided swing states as mail-in ballots, which have generally skewed Democratic, are slowly added to the in-person votes, which went to Trump in larger numbers.

There is no evidence of widespread voter fraud during the election, despite Mr Trump's repeated false claims.

In response, Greta changed her Twitter bio to that exact statement in an apparent dig at Trump's attempt to undermine her.

Trump does seem extra angry on Twitter today, so perhaps he should take his own advice and watch a good old fashioned movie with a friend.

Greta's fans were quick to commend her on her quick-thinking comeback, with one writing: "This is the most savage burn I have ever seen on Twitter!"
