Detroit Lions fire Head Coach Matt Patricia & GM Bob Quinn

Patricia, a Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School graduate, studied aeronautical engineering at RPI in Troy.

Detroit is 4-7 this season and Patricia is 13-29-1 in his time as the Lions coach.

The Detroit Lions, owned by the Ford Family, have one of the worst records in the NFL.

Quinn, who has assembled Lions personnel since 2016, saw Detroit go 31-43-1 during his time in charge, stumbling after a pair of 9-7 campaigns at the start of his tenure. The final loss was an embarrassing 41-25 setback against Houston on Thursday. "I honestly feel like a lot of it has to do with the players not executing. I just wish we could've won for him".

According to Rapoport, offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell will be the interim head coach for the rest of the 2020 season.

When Quinn let Caldwell go with a 36-28 record over four seasons and an 0-2 mark in the playoffs, he said the move was made to find a coach to take the team to the next level.

Patricia received a friendlier send off from Lions running back Adrian Peterson, who played 11 games in Detroit for the former New England Patriots defensive coordinator. Well, that didn't work out too well for the Lions as Patricia has been a disaster.

Quinn and the Lions surprised many in the National Football League when they fired Jim Caldwell after three winning seasons in four years in 2017. "So, that's my focus right now".
