Red Dead Online launching as standalone game in December

Despite being sold separately from the main game, Red Dead Online will still be huge, with an install size that clocks in at 123GB. Red Dead Online will be available on PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Games Launcher, Epic Games Store, and Steam.

Should you purchase Red Dead Online standalone at the discounted introductory price of $4.99, you'll have the option to unlock the Red Dead Redemption 2: Story Mode as a separate add-on. The game will include the five existing specialist roles, the story-based A Land of Opportunities coop missions, Showdown competetive modes, Free Roam Missions, and online games of poker.

The standalone copy will offer everything the one packed in with Red Dead Redemption does. (On consoles, necessary subscription plans will need to be in place to play this online game.) The Red Dead Online standalone version will appear on December 1, 2020 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, with a 75% off discount in effect until February 15, 2021.

Red Dead Online released shortly after Red Dead Redemption 2 as the game's multiplayer component. Please note that PlayStation Plus and / or Xbox Live Gold are required to play. Additionally, all Bounty Hunter Missions are doling out double XP in RDO this week.

This will introduce an influx of new fugitives to track down and bring to justice, as well as Prestigious level equipment and skills to unlock across an additional 10 Bounty Hunter ranks.
