Michael B. Jordan Will Direct Third 'Creed' Movie, Co-Star Tessa Thompson Says

In his book A Life in Movies: Stories From 50 Years in Hollywood, Rocky and Creed producer Irwin Winkler revealed that star Michael B. Jordan could be stepping behind the camera for another Creed film.

"Thompson is also set to return as Bianca, a singer-songwriter with progressive hearing loss and Adonis" girlfriend who becomes his fiancee by the end of "Creed II", which released in 2018.

She said: "It's going to be ammo, I think, for me, when he is engaging with me as a director". We're gonna be doing another Creed very soon, and I don't need the sexiest man in the world to... you know what I'm saying, I just don't need it. "I'm just gonna tell him to dial down the sexiness".

Jordan is taking the leap from People's sexiest man alive to director.

There are few other details about the upcoming Creed 3, although it will reportedly be written by Zach Baylin, who also wrote the upcoming King Richard, a Will Smith-starring biopic about the father of tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams. In this way, the star player will follow in the footsteps of Sylvester Stallone, the star of the Rocky series. But now at least we know who will be the director.

Creed III will be Jordan's directorial debut, but he has become increasingly involved behind the scenes of his projects in recent years. It's too much for me to handle. Creed is a spin-off of the Rocky franchise, and Rocky and Creed star Sylvester Stallone ended up directing several Rocky sequels - Rocky II, Rocky III, Rocky IV, and Rocky Balboa. It's too much for me to shoulder. My only hope for Creed III is that it gets back to embracing its own identity instead of remaining so beholden to the Rocky series.
