Swift's previous album Folklore, which was also released in July without any prior announcements, still has the distinction of being the highest-selling album of 2020. Taylor's now thanking fans for this achievement.

News broke Monday that "no body, no crime (featuring HAIM)" will launch as a country radio single in early January 2021. "Before this year I probably would've overthought when to release this music at the "perfect" time, but the times we're living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed", the artist wrote of her decision to release it without promotion.

With Evermore, Taylor Swift has become the only artist in history to debut atop both major Billboard charts simultaneously twice.

Taylor Swift clarified she does not have another surprise album up her sleeve after rumours of a possible third record circulated among her fans. I've never done this before. After releasing the album, she immediately gained six Grammy Awards nominations.

She went on to explain that while making "Folklore", she did not actually follow the guidelines she established for herself since she debuted.
