The Adams County Health Department reported the COVID-19 related deaths of two more Adams County residents Thursday, a male in his 80s and a female in her 90s.

Quebec exceeded the 200,000 COVID-19 case mark Thursday after officials reported a record 2,819 new infections.

The total number of cases is now at 1,429.

Among the over 500 active cases, Jamestown has 145, Dunkirk has 105 and Fredonia has 45.

December 25 marked the ninth month the health department has been releasing COVID-19 data. Unfortunately, we expect this to get worse before it gets better.

"I've done some investigation and it seems as though, even though there are 20 cases in Lakewood, it's not one place or particular issue, it is what we all know now is community spread and probably the first wave of after-Christmas COVID spread", Holcomb said. There was no immediate breakdown for individual facilities, a spokesman said.

They also outlined steps on safely receiving the second dose in individuals who develop a reaction to their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
