Philip Rivers started 240 consecutive games from 2006-2020 - with the first 14 of those seasons coming for the Chargers before one season with the Colts. Rivers spent the next two seasons backing up Drew Brees in San Diego before taking over as the starter when Brees left in free agency.
Rivers joined the Colts on a one-year, $25 million contract last March after 16 outstanding seasons with the Chargers, who reached the playoffs six times during that stretch and advanced to the AFC championship game after the 2007 season.
Rivers ends his career with a super impressive resume. he made 8 total Pro Bowls, threw for more than 63,000 passing yards and logged 421 passing TDs. "It's just right. I can sit here and say, 'I can still throw it".
"This is the first year I felt like the ending was real", he said. "But that's always going to be there". "If it's not I'll be on a sideline somewhere - I know where - I'll be on the sideline with a ball cap coaching the heck out of a high school football team down in south Alabama".
"Every year, January 20th is a special and emotional day", he said. Could not have done it without y'alls unwavering support. He also has the fifth-most pass completions with 5,277.
Philip Rivers certainly made his mark in the league, and he hopes to continue to make an impact on the game by imparting his experiences to the next generation of football players. Rivers recently concluded the 2020 National Football League season with the Colts after bouncing out of the Wild Card Round against the Buffalo Bills in the postseason.
Despite struggling in 2019, Rivers rebounded when he was reunited with coach Frank Reich in Indianapolis.
"No, it's not that easy", Rivers said. "I got to do it".
